“We’ve been an aïr Accredited Retailer from the beginning,” says Joe Solomons, Managing Director at Windows Etc. “We were looking for the next generation in aluminium sliding and bi-folding doors and we found aïr, just before it was launched.”

“The aïr brand attracts a different type of client. They’re more design-aware and they’re looking for large panes of glass to let lots of light into their homes. They want something that’s both stylish and cost-effective — aïr meets those needs.

“It’s not unusual for us to have a client come in and talk to us about the ins and outs of a door for over an hour, because they’re savvy. They do their research and they know what they want.”

In this particular project, Window Etc’s clients wanted to create a multifunctional, open-plan living space, where they had plenty of room for entertaining. They were looking for wide-span glazed doors to merge their indoor and outdoor living spaces.

They chose an aïr 600LS – a 6.3m wide, three pane sliding door with a flush threshold that blurs the lines between their stunning garden decking area and new open plan living extension.

“It’s a really well-designed door system,” continues Joe. “We love the sightlines and the very square profile of the frame. The clever engineering of the stainless steel wheels gives the heavy panes a really easy glide.

“It’s these things that make aïr stand out from other aluminium sliding and bi-folding doors – things like the hardware range and the textured paint options give extra choice to customers.”

aïrcoat, the textured paint, is available in 14 different aïrcoat colours and gives a stunning finish to this kind of modern installation.

“Selling aïr has also helped us to increase our aluminium sales and expand our offering. It’s a lovely range from a great brand. We like Everglade’s easy ordering system and they offer great technical support, too. We always receive precision-manufactured products, so installations for our customers go really smoothly.”

Windows Etc. officially opened its new showroom on 21 April. As part of the launch, an impressive new aïrzone, featuring a triple track aïr 600LS, two pane aïr 500LS and an aïr 800 bi-folding door was unveiled.
