Looking at it now it’s hard to remember the P shaped drab conservatory with twee dwarf walls and tired, greying PVCu French doors. Unused, unloved and definitely unstylish. The owners of this stunning 1930s family home wanted a modern, glazed extension to create an open plan living area connected to the garden.

Today it’s exactly that. A sleek grey aluminium and glass box featuring two sets of impressive aïr doors to make up the glass walls. A 6.7 metre span lift & slide door using just three panes opens seamlessly with a low threshold to the stone patio and the garden beyond. Along the back and to the side, a smaller version. Finishing touches include the aluminium cladding to the corner pillar to perfectly match the aïr doors. Topped with a sleek modern aluminium and glass roof, this is inspirational.
